John Hopkins focuses his practice on the representation of school districts, colleges and other governmental entities.  He has extensive civil litigation experience, with a current emphasis on cases involving civil rights, employment issues, construction and procurement disputes, insurance disputes and breach of contract.  Mr. Hopkins also provides general counsel and transactional services, advising clients on matters involving real estate transactions, licensing agreements, finance issues, interlocal agreements, personnel issues, open government and conflicts of interest.  Prior to attending law school, Mr. Hopkins was a legislative aide in the Texas Senate.
