>William B. “Liam” McElhiney, III, focuses his practice on the representation of school districts, colleges, and other governmental entities. Mr. McElhiney regularly aids clients in employment litigation, personnel matters, civil rights and EEOC issues, as well as contracting and procurement matters.
Prior to joining Thompson & Horton, Mr. McElhiney served as an Assistant General Counsel in the Executive Office of the President of the United States, Office of Administration in Washington, D.C. In that position, Mr. McElhiney advised his client in a variety of legal areas, including employment matters, internal investigations, Federal contract and procurement law, and government ethics. Mr. McElhiney also revised internal policies, advised his client through settlement of civil complaints, and served as an investigator in employee grievances, disciplinary and adverse employment actions, and security investigations.
While in law school, Mr. McElhiney interned for the Honorable Harold R. DeMoss, Jr. (ret.), at the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit in Houston.
