Kathryn E. Long
Katie Long is a partner in the Dallas and Fort Worth offices of Thompson & Horton LLP. Ms. Long focuses her practice on representing school districts, colleges, and governmental entities in grievances, administrative hearings, and litigation and appeals in Texas state and federal courts.
Over the past fifteen years, she has defended and prosecuted claims on behalf of school districts, governmental entities, individuals, small businesses, and large corporations in business and commercial disputes, construction litigation, employment litigation, civil rights litigation, fiduciary litigation, premises liability, products liability, trademark disputes, and securities litigation. Ms. Long has successfully represented school districts and other governmental entities against Title VII, Chapter 21 of the Texas Labor Code, Americans with Disabilities Act, Age Discrimination in Employment Act, Family Medical Leave Act, Texas Whistleblower Act, and breach of contract claims. She has also successfully defended numerous Title VI, Title IX, Section 504, and 42 U.S.C. § 1983 civil rights actions brought by students and employees against school districts and other governmental entities, including First Amendment, Fourth Amendment, equal protection, and procedural and substantive due process claims.
Prior to joining Thompson & Horton, Ms. Long was a shareholder at Vincent Lopez Serafino Jenevein in Dallas, Texas. She has been named a Texas “Rising Star” by Texas Lawyer.
